Invitation Inspiration: Radiant Orchid- Pantone’s 2014 Color of Year: A Royal Wedding

Designers wait with baited breath for PANTONE© to select the Color of the Year. It sets the years trends in the world of graphic and interior design, fashion, event décor and more.

This year, PANTONE© announced that Radiant Orchid, with it’s spectrum of fuchsias and deep purples would influence and renew the world of design. The design community applauded this gorgeous palette, whose happy nature is rich and regal.

Of course, CREATE was dying to put this color palette to use and was thrilled when bride to be Charlotte and her fiancé TJ literally went, radiant orchid! Working with Bob Sendall at All in Good Taste Productions, we began to create their kingdom by immediately crowning their invitation suite with a custom designed logo made up of their names and crowned with a charm-ing jeweled heart.

For the couple’s unique Save the Date, CREATE designed this spectacular waterfall of cards strung together with a decadent satin ribbon that sparkled with undertones of the entire radiant orchid spectrum.

We then transitioned to designing the invitation and print accessories with romantic shades of eggplant and blushing shades of violet, all crowned with their logo; now a custom die cut platinum heart that embellished menus, programs, the wedding cake and more.

The royal couple danced the night away at one of the most radiant, heartfelt weddings CREATE can remember.

Invitation Inspiration: Dirty Shoelaces

I worked on this invitation for a Bar Mitzvah party. The kid loved to play sports & we wanted to capture that in the invitation. Not only did it turn out to be unique, but hilarious with the dirty shoe laces!

Invitation Inspiration: All That Jazz

This week’s Invitation Inspiration board features the wedding of Stacey White and Sean Jones at Jay Verno Studios. Because Sean is a famous trumpet player, the invitation was influenced by the couple’s love of jazz and the vibe of New Orleans. The color really popped on this fold out invitation for guests! The wedding was coordinated with Sean Grey International, Allison McGeary Floral & Common Plea Catering.

At CREATE Studio, we are pleased to announce a new feature on our blog: Invitation Inspiration. We’ll be compiling some of our favorite invitations and showing you the inspiration behind them through visual photo boards. You can also follow along on our Facebook page with our #InvitationInspiration album.

This week’s board features the Mary Pat Stahler and Lee Feigert morning wedding (mentioned also below) held at Phipps Conservatory. CREATE Studio designed the program, menu, and place cards. The wedding was perfectly planned by Shari ZatmanAllison McGeary Floral and MOSAIC. Their lace invitation was inspired by a love for everything shabby chic.

Invite Spotlight: Marie & Matt’s Romance

At CREATE Studio, we want everyone’s experience to be a personalized one. That’s why every project starts with a complimentary consultation. Our goal is to take your vision and bring it to life!

With this in mind, Marie and Matt asked CREATE to design both their save the date and wedding invitation. They were excited about using their common initial “M” in clever ways that would tie in with their venue, the Mansion on Fifth, built at the height of Victoriana on Millionaire’s Row in Pittsburgh. Their other goal was to introduce all of their out of town guests to the city of Pittsburgh.

For the save the date, CREATE designed a beautiful “M” with a Victorian, wrought iron look and combined it with a turn of the century bridge to represent Pittsburgh, the “City of Bridges”. For the wedding invitation, the logo was laser cut out of silver and mounted to the center of the invitation to mirror the architectural Victorian motifs at the Mansion on Fifth.

A mix of exquisite pearlescent papers in peach, silver, opal, and an Italian pearl, floral embossed stock were wrapped together with a wide peach satin band to finish off this romantic invitation.

CREATE set the tone perfectly for a beautiful Victorian wedding today, but with all of the historic charm and romance from Pittsburgh’s heyday.
